About the Event
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, South Palm Beach County Chapter, invites you and your colleagues to join us as we watch and discuss excerpts of the documentary Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools. The film examines the nationwide issue of over-punishment and over-policing that Black Girls experience in school systems. As supporters for our school district, educators, and youth-serving organizations, we seek to: raise this pervasive concern to protect the Black girls in our community elevate preventative discussions co-create policies to ensure that a culturally responsive system of care serves our Palm Beach youth to the benefit of the community at large. The screening will be followed by a panel of community members representing parents, law enforcement, education, and mental health fields. We invite you to join the conversation to lay out a proactive approach toward safeguarding the bright futures of our young people in Palm Beach Count
